Michael Huerta, FAA Administrator, explains the process to get your remote pilots certificate for the new Small UAS Rule (Part 107) from the FAA. Rules & testing begins Aug 29th, 2016. You must pass a FAA knowledge test to get your remote pilots certificate.

  1. Setup Appointment at FAA Knowledge Testing Center – UAS Knowledge Test Cost Approx. $150
  2. Complete FAA Integrated Airman Certificate and/or Rating Application
  3. Within 10day you will recieve temp certificate and after a background check you will get you permanent airmans certificate.
  4. You must pass FAA knowledge test every two years to keep your certificate valid.
